Where is Hell?
Apr. 22nd, 2007 10:33 amThe most pertinent thing I've ever read is in Dante, where the answer to the poet's question 'where is Hell?' is Virgil's answer 'This is Hell; neither are we out of it". Mephistopheles smiles.
Its a constant effort to force away images and imaginings of the every-day cruelty, matter-of-fact distress, and banal deprivation that happen every single second of life everywhere.
Sometimes I just don't even see the point in TRYING to cope with these thoughts...its such hard work.
Somehow its easier to deal with info about human distress than animals...I just can't stand that at all. What's worse is that even less can really be done about it.
!!!!!!!!!! I imagined someone buying a mouse from a pet shop and cutting its legs off with scissors.!!!!!!!!!!!
These sort of thoughts are plaguing me every day and I can't stop them, tho I've come up with various tactics of evasion.
Anything I can imagine has already been done, is going to be done, or is BEING done right this second.
This is Hell.
