Broadway Market
Apr. 29th, 2007 11:39 amI walked over London Fields (at the bottom of my road) to Broadway Market yesterday. Since I've lived in East London-over 10 years-this place has changed from being a small street market-place with a couple of fruit and veg. stalls to a burgeoning mecca for the New-Hip East End.
It's also getting to be a mini (but growing) version of how Camden USED to be in the 80's, with arrays of vintage classic clothing and paraphernalia, alongside home-grown produce and home-made cuisine, and crafts with a 'one-off' element that has long deserted Camden's mass-produced offering.
There are a couple of excellent pubs and some up-market street cafés as well as hot-food stalls.
