The current portrait/painting is taking longer, but I learn proportionately more about painting from working on it.
Its only really been this year that I have begun painting steadily, as I have always preferred drawing with various media, and print-making techniques such as etching, aquatint etc.
My 'style' as it develops is quite loose and intuitive, with a literal/narrative slant. I'm not displeased by it, and have yet no desire to get closer to either photo-realism nor expressionism, tho the latter is definitely the more attractive direction.
I need to look at getting good prints made of the finished works.
Meanwhile, the originals paintings are all for sale at £300 each, which is exactly half of what my agent Oakapple charges.
I can do ordinary portrait paintings from photos (ie without invented settings, costumes, animals etc) for £180 and portrait drawings (people and animals) for £50.
