'The Vampire's Picnic'
Photomontage by Jeff Wall

Saturday was excellent throughout, because of good company...the events were secondary tho highly enjoyable. [livejournal.com profile] miss_deltress came over to my place and we got a cab to Highgate to join the LVG people in Waterlow Park.
The picnic should have been a miserable affair, given that we were sat under black clouds in a cold windy park, but it was one of the best outdoor nosh+gab fests I've ever been to.
I was delighted also to meet the wierd, wired and wonderful [livejournal.com profile] sahra_patroness also [livejournal.com profile] combat_kitten, a very nice person indeed, and several interesting others (not on LJ) with whom I had good chats with throughout the day and evening. [livejournal.com profile] demondaz is a really good laugh, sharp as a razor, and his missus [livejournal.com profile] enlyyl is so interesting, beautiful and quite overshadowed by that peacock!!!
Of course that elusive enigma [livejournal.com profile] chyldecatcher was NOT there. Huh.
The pub we went on to was a brilliant choice, as it had loads of room for us to commandeer a large corner area.
So... great evening there, then on downtown to Invocation.
O wow, that DJ [livejournal.com profile] dave_exile is some Jeckyll and Hyde. There was little comparison to the last Invo I went to...this one was smokin!
All the right boxes were ticked...full, dervish whirling dance floor and energetic/powerful/driving music (including oldy favourites... at one point the excellent and beautifully nasally-challenged [livejournal.com profile] sinbadsilk, me and the rest of the table belted out the lyrics to Ziggy Stardust)
This all added up to a Great Atmosphere.
By the time me and [livejournal.com profile] miss_deltress got a taxi to our seperate homes, I was pretty much done in, and looking forward to getting indoors, having a gorgeous relaxing scented bath then schlumping about in favourite silk pyjamas.
Which is what I am STILL doing now.
So sorry to miss [livejournal.com profile] batpuss's Tanz Macabre in Soho this evening, but I was finally dead to the world by 6pm.
NB whilst typing this (excrutiatingly slowly as usual) I have had to go outside THREE times to throw sticks for the cat-boys...they had no games all day yesterday and have been mreowing sharply for the participation of their human.
