Nov. 21st, 2007 09:25 amHackney is a desolate place! I've been here AGES and have not met one single solitary person that I have anything remotely in common with.
Just taking the age-bracket criteria alone, either they are too young and upwardly mobile, or too old and out of the loop.
I have always had to travel back downtown for any sort of social life, since I got here.
It doesn't help that the only person here that I know WELL (Alan) is about as different from me as it gets so far as interests etc lie.
There must be SOME sort of like-minded social scene here, which would be more convenient for travel, time etc, but damned if I know where it is or how to crack into it.
(played 3 Tom Waits albums back to back whilst working last night).
