Break Thru
Feb. 26th, 2008 05:19 ami broke off other work to go back to reworking this BIT of a painting, but seemed to be just going thru the motions.
Suddenly, after I'd actually packed everything away and was turning in around 4am , i stopped myself and went back to it. It was as if the Inside Me came thru and took over... at one point i was sort of watching myself paint (ie the absurd self-aware, self-obsessed, vain, neorotic me had to stay OUT and the 'real' me took over and carried on painting.
All the basic, properly chosen colours and shapes were there as a result of deliberate work, but now i skatted and sskuzzed them all up till i got what i'd been aiming at all along.
Here's that section, which is at LAST how I want it and finished.
