Chicken Conditions
Apr. 30th, 2008 09:53 amMy attempts at vegetarianism have consistently failed, and I bought some chicken drumsticks yesterday from a local butchers called Murrays Fresh Food adjoining Ridley Road market.
The photo I took shows part of one leg. You don't need to be a forensic scientist to know this was caused by injury when the bird was alive. I've noticed bruising on meat before but this is the last time I'll see it.
I've emailed this photo and letter to local MP and also supermarkets which should be made aware anyway. The RSPCA website has a campaign, actually, against the overall "unacceptable" conditions chickens are kept in.
