I had to buy THIS recently (chucked out a huge part of the old one with the dustbag accidentally).
No WAY was I going to waste capital on that, so I hit on opening an account with Littlewoods, got this half price in sale and its under £2 a week, no interest. (I know -- I'll be in a bingo hall next).
Anyway when I chose it I just looked down the motor sizes and was delighted to find they've invented a 2000W model.

Its a little BEAST! it has sucked up 3 biros, a glove and some coins, plus god knows what else. Both cats are under the bed, I'm running around picking up anything that might come within a metre radius of it.
Now I cn see the point of that reduce suction bit (which I blithely ignored, and could not find in time)

Central America's electrical system runs on 125V instead of 240V (NEMA 5-15). That isn't going to be enough juice to run my 15" G4 Powerbook is it? -- but would it sufficiently power up the lithium ion battery? (by taking twice as long?)
In short, is it worthwhile taking a UK voltage PowerBook over there---its dead easy to convert AC DOWN* but impossible to convert up, unless they devise a 'Book with a generator!

NB I only really need it for mail and to empty my camera into.

*tho according to the otherwise unhelpful Mac forums, there're a staggering number of visitors who appear to be unaware of the UK voltage and have fried their US lappys.
Heh heh heh >: )
