effect of seeing ridiculously good artwork .....

I've just seen the latest wonderful works by [livejournal.com profile] enlyyl and they are PAINTINGS this time! There's a really high level of skill in these and a professional competency that's way better my own haphazard, slap-dash approach : (
(bearing in mind that this is my sole occupation).
The draughtsmanship, use of colour, composition are all superlative.
I feel inspired to paint and draw immediately ... BUT ... here's the dilemma : (
I don't DO pictures any more.
Can't do that now -- has to be less-is-more, bare bones construction and concept.*
And b4 i skip off to draw a falling acrobat (fr'instance) ---- that goes fr drawing too.
Not that i've done much picture-making anyway. And the paid work i've done has given me no drawing practice or skill enhancement worth anything.
Any progress i make is shown in works that are about 6 months apart with practically no inbetween prep work and i keep thinking that's Not Good, but on the other hand, Sez Who? and on ANOTHER hand, I Don't Care.
Meanwhile here's a photo of Aly and *Rob* in Finsbury Park ....

hahahahaha wino

* right well i'll do that, then

d'uh

Those paintings were not by [livejournal.com profile] enlyyl ; she has put pictures by an artist called Emily Balivet on her page : ยง
BUT -- the reason i thought Audrey had painted them is that the talent etc she uses in designing and making jewellery and crafts is at LEAST as good as the level shown in these paintings.
Wz a bit surprised by the apparent sudden change in media tho! Quel donut.

Not bothered, reaction and stuff below still applies.

cat-stuff

I am on the computer just long enough* to post some cat photos from yesterday as i am clearing out their collection of cat-things to see if there's anything worthwhile giving to the rescue cats (prompted by reading about some of them on [livejournal.com profile] indigo_violet's page link, and the little cat she is presently fostering).

*NB i stopped smoking yesterday so i have to avoid smoking situations*

Circuit's all-time favourite toys are the silk rosebud, which he either retrieves or beats up, and a bit of white plastic.

Panzer just goes for any moving thing in striking distance
