Degrees of Costumery from lazy faire (moi) to spectacular

Sometimes a cliche comes along that i absolutely adore and use to XS; so "the summer has ALL GONE HORRIBLY WRONG" is a perfectly legit statement.
Well it has.


I paid Lidl a visit yesterday and came out with the boxes of sewing accessories shown here with my sewing machine. As well as lots of threads, elastic, fasteners etc etc etc there are a dozen threaded bobbins and six sewing-machine needles all of which are Universal fitting and DO work on Brother. Brilliant fr six pounds!

Last Saturday morning I literally altered this top (below) in the last five mins b4 I left fr Kensal Green Cemetery (but arrived way late due to detour fr stop-off, traffic at Euston etc so didn't do cat. tour etc).
It was quite shapless so i ran some open ended seams very randomly around the midriff area. I wz pleased with that : D

It was great to see everybody there btw! Realised there were quite a few people i have not actually seen since b4 I took off this January!
*its fun to see such variety of detail eg in one of those legendary cecile costumes close up, with inventive bits like mouse earrings attached to seams etc etc. and the totally excellent stall of unique jewellery and accessories that Audrey had made.

When the virtually new, replacement 2.5L + turbo engine we put into this Audi packs in, it will be the end of an era : (
