Critical Mass

I took this b/wh print based on 'L'Etranger' to an open art prints preview last evening held at a studio gallery in the small, purpose-built units off Broadway Market.
Eventually i got to show to the gallery owner, an effusive angular type of the loudly arty variety.
She looked at it askance. 'No, really I CANnot have anything so .... literal? Not sure where you could take that really...' she said, smirking round the company.
'Well, there WAS The Mall' I said, leaving.
'I'm sorry, where?'
'The Mall Galleries - y'know, on Pall Mall?....Mark Lawson selected it as a Critic's Choice for the Discerning Eye Exhibition there in 2004'.
I left to a confusion of comments having already dismissed the place as way too pokey and inconsequential.
