Oct. 26th, 2009 08:37 am* First Buses admitted liability for the damage to the car i co-own by their driver Mr J Omango. They repaid the amount of the garage costs that we met this Spring. The Motor Insurers Bureau expedited their response.
Its not known what action they took against their Hit And Run bus driver, but it could not be LESS than that taken by the local Hackney police who first said they couldn't trace him. We then had the man located (promptly) by a private solicitor whereupon they stated that they had questioned him but that he had denied the charge, therefore they were not pursuing the case as they felt there was 'insufficient evidence' (two respectable eye-witnesses, the damage to the car).
*Media reports earlier this year about government interference with knife crime figures are, I feel, of no slight nor insignificant parallel here.*
A huge *Thank you!!* to the painstaking help and advice I got on LJ from
exmoor_cat and
dollysadistika and to all who commented in like vein.
