Bad Room / Uni-swank
Nov. 17th, 2009 11:11 amThere is something very unsettling about this room in Kenwood House at Hampstead Heath, where I go quite often (last Thursday last).

The way the space feels poky and over-burdened, belted in by those absurd columns rising out of a drawing room carpet ffs - somehow it feels like there's a bloated corpse in the room, dressed up in stained silk.
It's much more interesting to look at the pictures now (since i revised my scant knowledge of 19th century art) and there is a very attendant curator there who is properly impressed by the ole 'prestigious Fine Art degree from Leeds' (which used to select between 15 -20 of us from UK and abroad each year -- cz we all needed studios).
Not to be confused with a sameplace degree in History of Art.
Ew.
