I've always thought it would be great to go - preferably with a group - to the Geffrye Museum in Shoreditch, where the old alms houses afford pastiches of 'sitting rooms through the ages at Christmas-time'.
You walk the long length of the cottagey buildings and look in at chambers and parlours of the 16th C right up to the *interesting* recent.
So - I wonder if e.g. Cecile would want to organise something?-- will suggest it next week.
I once went with my idolised* older sister Anna (a university lecturer in Eng. language + phonetics) on a very very rare visit to London, and I absolutely loved it.
Actually --
for that same visit i got us seats for 'The Woman in Black' at The Fortune Theatre, Covent Garden.... (nb would LOVE to see that again too.... I really think doing some things in groups is quite good now
(since the first visit to Kusmirowsky's Bunker).
What a choice of play tho--I found that rocking chair TOO SCARY! (Anna was unruffled but not pleased): there used to be a rocking chair that was subject to movement "by the wind" in the malignant attics of our country home.

The 1960's room - it reminds me of that film 'The Ice Storm'.
