I'm staying home + indoors this weekend - too much sneezing and shivering on top of yet more running around the city yesterday. I cannot catch a flukey flu this side of travelling.
Sadly it means I had to cry off Vero
combat_kitten 's birthday meal at Jai Krishna followed by Big Red (damn, there was a table reserved there too - smart move) and will miss birthday things tonight too.
So it's Happy Birthday! from a safe distance to
morbidfrog and
void150 (will post to LJ's/FB's)
and hope they have a great time at Vagabonds tonight.
Last weekend I travelled out to Ealing somewhere* for <
demondaz, and Esther , and Seth and Loki's party with <
deltress Had a good time - hilarious conversation - but felt poorly afterwards to the extent of actually chucking up on Charing cross on way back -- groogh - between night buses : ((
*(i.e. we got out at wrong place, surprise, and had to sort of cross-country it from the wooden station--there were huge black gaps in the night landscape ahead,= no streets EEK --eventually found it after running into helpful trannie guest Martin/e, en route, who went on and on about Waitrose).
The weekend b4 that was the LVG valentines party (good to catch up with some v. nice people and meet some new ones) followed by Reptile (EXCELlent!) after which me + D ended up walking all the way from the Minories at Tower Hill to Hackney Downs station!
I mean, we KNEW where to get buses but couldn't be annoyed hanging about. Walking's good.
So really it's time I stayed put THIS weekend.
Giving me a chance to thoroughly swot up for example the public transport systems of Hong Kong ('Octopus card', good)and Shanghai (sardine Metro, bad; taxis v. cheap if lunatic) where i'll be staying a total of 6 days.

Ah Chung (Year of the Tiger) special edition Octopus card, 50HKDollars (about £5).
and bebichhichi accessories among many others available... cute alert! 150HKD each.

I'm saving my cash for the ubiquitous late hour street markets.
