SEVEN DAYS NO CIGARETTES

I'm not counting a total of 15 puffs ON cigarettes because no more than 3 were consecutive and those would not add up to one single cigarette.
I am a bit annoyed by the fact that even after one is technically UNHOOKED the desire to smoke persists. Play the white man, cigarettes.
All the same, stopping habitual smoking behaviour ( automatically reaching for pack) rules out a lot of the temptation.
As far as substitutes go, there aren't any really. I eat about the same amount of brazil nuts and black chocolate that i did b4 but i do have more chewing gum around.

You're right there are no substitutes

Well done!!! When I quit I'd make myself a cup of green tea when I wanted to smoke. It didn't help the cravings at all, but it got me doing something, and helped fill the 5 minutes having a fag would have filled. I think I must have been drinking about 20 cups a day that first week!

Ta : )
I have been eating a lot of pots of yogurt actually, now i think about it -- that's a similar deflection technique surely

It does go eventually - I forget now that I used to smoke. I can well remember those times when I first gave up wondering what to so with my hands when sitting and talking to people. Unfortunately there are no substitutes but I did find I used to nibble more - sweets, nuts etc, more for something to do

Yeh, I'm much more tempted to smoke when in company - even around people who don't smoke!

It's 2 weeks proper cold turkey for the physical to go. And those puffs would have been enough of a top-up sadly.

After that it's breaking the habit part. A pint and a... oh bugger. You get the idea. Still, doing well :)

Erm, that takes about 2 months and the itch never truly goes away. I started smoking again after the stroke. Quit again after a year but even so....
