Asian Horror (kicks big slabby US bums)

Saw 'Rinne' (Reincarnation) by superb Japanese director Takashi Shimizu ('Juon'/The Grudge etc). Its a little slow in parts but contains the requisite elements of pure creepyness that only the Korean director Kim Jee-woon ('Jhangri...' /A Tale of Two Sisters) can match.
Even the graphics in these films are really original and well done.
I particularly like the fact that they are more 'psychological chiller' than straight horror...its that exquisite refinement of fear that overwhelms, as in the excrutiating 'Audition'.
That said, I think the best, most disturbing film of this genre remains the 1950's b/wh classic 'The Innocents', based on one of my favourite books, Henry James' "The Turn of The Screw".

work

Started a painting (smallish square canvas) of a Hoody in London Fields.
Meanwhile, Aftermath 16: 'Animal' is out of the folio and back on the drawing board again.
