I have experienced the strange world of the 24-hour supermarket....
3.30am in Tesco (incidentally I LOATHE Tesco...I'm a Sainsbury snob)
The people are not there to shop...its a 'singles and desperates' hang-out!
If you stand in front of an item for any length of time, another 'shopper' will casually slide up and engage you in conversation about it.
Actually they probably have a code based on supermarket shelf items. (and if they don't, it'd still be a good idea).
eg anything in fruit + veg could mean they're looking for a liberal-minded, well-educated type. (because plebs are supposed to only eat white bread, beans and donuts)
