Against all the odds, Saturday turned out to be fantastic! I woke up late, STILL feeling like I was reaching critical mass. Then I remembered a track I hadn't heard in ages and HAD to have it....my sanity depended on Red Right Hand.
Smartly it was blasting from my trusty Samsung, 150w per channel. (my neighbour Richard is a cool old W. Indian guy who plays xcellent old trojan numbers, jazz etc...we take turns. Respect.)

The day just got better after that. Donna came over and we had the BEST time getting ready for the LVG party. Alan arrived with our Audi, we piled in and blasted ITS excellent system down to High Holborn, playing one of my compilation CDs of PURE PRE-PARTY BUZZ tracks like White Wedding, The Model, Girl Like You (Edwyn Collins) and newer ones like Risingson (Massive.. ) right up to Capital G.
Alan wouldn't come in with us... :0( and :0( ...he said he didn't know anyone, wouldn't fit, and had a date with Snooker anyhow. Daft he is--he's the real deal!
Humph we said and went in.

I have NEVER socialised as much at a party! I met and talked to LOADS of people including utter strangers (who of course were delightful...eg Oscar!) And I finally met up with Dawn, who is a really GOOD nutter as suspected. Nice to see you, [livejournal.com profile] druidess!
Oh and I talked with the DJ guys too, Alexander of course I know from Slimes, but I think that's the first time I've spoken with Thunder except for fleeting Hi's. Also Madderz, and Jussard? is it?

(NB I thought Andy Ravensable's 2nd name was pronounced like some Dickensian-Gothic word (accent on the 'en')--it never occured to me its TWO perfectly normal words.) It was nice to meet someone else based in the art world (as a designer no less).

And of course it was excellent chatting and having a laugh with the people I know already, like Darren and Audrey, Rob and Ally, Goth- Nick and other Nick (ta for that repaid thengU), Pete, Charlotte, Robert, Susan, LORRAINE (who isn't angry about her portrait after all, only that dress I repainted over a looser one is TOO TIGHT!), Emma, met Yomi who did that good drawing of Darren once

..!..I'm running out of SociablePointZero data banks here peops..!..
not used to this level of input ...
erm, and lots of other good familiar faces.

* I feel like I've been locked in a salt-mine for months.
I have, really.*

We'd booked a taxi for 12.30 and it arrived...at 12.30.
Even the journey home was great... good conversation that really helped put things into (laughable!) perspective even more.
I went all the way out to Walthamstow where D gets out, and back into Hackney in the cab. I was even tempted after all that to call Alan and see if he felt like going out night-riding, but it was too early/too busy. So, more gabbing on the phone and texts as well...and I hadn't even got to the mac yet!

I have communicableated myself to stratospheric heights.

A very warm thank-you to the few kind souls who commented on my AWFUL post the other night (I DID sort of time it for the depopulated LJ-weekend)...ships in distress on dark seas, and all that.
I'm sure it was reaching that LOW that made tonight's high spirits possible.

NB, Party --in the last 10 minutes before we left, Andy R (THANKS!) played my request... Red Right Hand.
