Jasmine and twin cub Jasper were found starving by a roadside, after poachers had shot the adult tigers in the area. They now live with an older tiger Tamara in a large tiger sanctuary near Phnom Pen.
It didn't cost much to help fund getting the cub to a decent environment-- and its a one-off sum.
Nice if you're quite flush one month, which I just happened to be at the time.

Meanwhile this morning, Circuit seems to find the idea of jungle-life quite risible.

I'm sad I had to miss last evening's Heaven & Hell walk; I'm interested in Clerkenwell as I used to live off Theobald's Road and never really explored that area (well, turn right and all of the West End is on the doorstep...not surprising I never turned left at my road end).
Also, The House of Doctor Dee is set there, and Clerkenwell Tales by Peter Ackroyd.
I started reading his Biography of London recently and immediately got interested in the prehistory of London (esp. the Druids).
Its funny to think of a mammoth being dug up at King's Cross in 1692.
