OPTING OUT......

Was supposed to go to an interesting sounding psychic thing in Islington on Saturday... then got phone call saying the dreadful words
"I think its a - *shudder*- Meetup Group".
Result, had a much better time just dossing about catching up round mine then on the rooftop garden of the Marquis and in the car.
There must be SOME Meetup Groups that are OK ...like a Goth meetup group cannot FAIL to be great.
However I can't think of any other categories to remotely equal that - anything else is just going to be a disparate bunch of desperates, don't you think?
We didn't get to Vagabonds either - i felt POORLY
(LOVE that English phrase and NEVER miss a chance to use it)

Next day I got driven to the Weir on the River Lee where I walked about a lot again.
I feel oddly drawn to the the far-spread area of the disused Filter Beds*.

PANIC! - the moment frozen in time

Incredible, historic live TV going on from Capitol Hill, Washington at the US House of Representatives...the NAYs are at 226, YEAs at 207 and they need to get up to 218 for Bush's Bill to be passed that will bail out the American Banks by $700 billion.
The arm - twisting that's now going on is a desperate attempt to get the Non-Voters to vote Yea.
Its now long past the time that the gavel should have come down --'Time Remaining' has stood at 00.00 for over 5 minutes.

19.07hrs- bill is defeated, the Dow has just plunged 650 points.
The market is now in a 'blind panic' by this completely unprecedented and unforeseen outcome.
