I called Andy the Mac Engineer last evening and told him my system was running slow, that there had been a lot of Permissions conflicts etc....asked him to give it a tune-up.
It took over two hours @ £45 p.h. but he generously charged me £90.
My thought is this:
I have utterly no problem with that. So why don't I EVER do likewise?
Andy the MacAid has a house and a big garden for his cats and five iPhones.

NB an app called SpeedDownload that I'd got from Version tracker has Issues, mac people!

I meant to have that programme on as background - but i became so drawn into it, and eventually sat down *to listen* not watch! - to the excerpts from The Wasteland, and on.
I have never got into poetry, except fr Shakespeare and John Donne but i sort of bracket them apart fr some (unliterary) reason - poetry turns me plebby and philistine, but T S Eliot is just a different matter altogether - ever since i heard some teacher read the lines about Tiberius and ceasing on the midnight hour.
So - the programme was very moving and very entrancing (and amusing e.g. when a cat like Circuit popped up, bug-eyed, behind a clump of daffodils and bounded away)* and i got nothing done but absorb it.
What a convoluted, truthful, questing man!

*cueing the cat-appreciative writings....NB that was the one aspect i liked least about T S Eliot, slightly/temporarily.
I only become a first cat owner 4 years ago and b4 that i was kinda skeptical of cat-lovers as they seemed to attribute WAY too much charisma and craftiness to pets that i mostly remarked either sleeping or walking slowly around asking 4 food.
But T S Eliot took meticulous details of form and behaviour from any source that presented for scrutiny, cats included. NB it was touching to see his scrap book/diary pages from the happy years of his later marriage, where he has glued in a sample of wallpaper they have chosen and written about it).
At the risk of sounding plain daft i think that wallpaper text and his uniquely anti-hierarchical approach, shows the genuine clarity of the man's soul.
