Oh I am just livid about the Dodo...there was ONE stuffed Dodo left in existence and SOMEBODY threw it out in a sort of museum spring-clean, and it was INCINERATED. So now all there is, are SOME bits of a dodo skeleton. (incidentally, the curator told me that when they were putting out the dodo bones in its case, they found amongst them a human ulna)
Ah! It’s good to see the art of absolute cretinism still thrives. I thought one of the functions of a museum was preserving valuable items from the past for the education and entertainment of future generations!? There again, I think it was only a box of bones that they had in the first place. Probably better for it to live on in the imagination ... and that song by The Police ..
