I've been listening to this interesting guy again (links supplied by [livejournal.com profile] chyldecatcher, thanks!)
I also work (paint) all the time I'm listening so its ALL good.
The broadcasts are from a series titled :
Alan Watt "Cutting Through The Matrix" LIVE on RBN:
the most recent being
"Exodus from Physical Slavery to Virtual Slavery - The Surrender of Consciousness"
(Article: "'Exodus' to virtual worlds predicted" BBC News, bbc.co.uk - Dec. 11, 2007.)

I like Alan Watt (subjectively...judging by his accent, he's from slightly east of my part of Scotland for ONE thing, and looks REALLY, uncannily, like my late Dad for another, tho I didn't know that straight away); I also find it hard NOT to agree with the gist of his views, tho I'm UN-knowledgible of the architecture supporting them so have to take on face value for the present.
There's one thing I'd like to ask him tho, which is ; what is his understanding of the, as yet tentative, psychology of collective knowledge, or shared consciousness? I mean, in regard to its ability to grasp truth regardless of disseminated indoctrination? Does the fact that all previous (religion-based) systems have had to rely so heavily on physical policing shows that, in time, any human population will divine the reality behind the myth, or subterfuge set up to control it? Sooner or later the result has ALWAYS been the collapse, or radical volte face, of that system.
So.. is it psychologically possible that the (developed) world be fooled about the reason for Global Warming for any USEFUL length of time, or has the advance of cerebral collectivity now perhaps jeopardised that end-game?
(can imagine a hidden mathematical system developing in tandem here!).

MAYBE I'll even be able to put that, OR a similar question eg on innate instinct to him sometime...be really interesting if he answered it, even if it IS the question of a novice. Meanwhile, LJ can store it for me.

Hmmm. May's well carry on working and listening to the rest of the series now--why not.

A. Watt
