New Year's Eve

deltress and now straightlaceed have booked for Mon 31st night at the Slimelight, which costs £20. Its a 3-floor night with Cinema and its trad-goth.

The 'Xmas/New Year party' on Saturday 29th with 3 bands playing is a tenner as usual.
Quite a few people aren't online out of work, and it'll require some phoning around between us, but there should be a good bunch going to one or both of these nights.

No-one has suggested any alternative to Slimes so far since void150 proposed the idea....at Slimes last weekend.

That was tricky! I managed to buy Christmas presents with one recipient sometimes a few yards away! Alan and I drove to various good shops outside the centre, avoiding the busier routes. (NB even going SPLITS on a car is quite steep...my turn for tank of diesel, £65!) Yeah well, I walked/cycled everywhere for years and YEARS.
I got him a powerful magnifying glass, a huge electric blanket and stationery stuff. Its a waste of time getting chess-related things as they are ALWAYS snorted at in derision (and Jeez he's not THAT good!)
The cats have both got new, engraved ID discs and collars to go with their fur, and Alan got them a lot of treats as he is their benign uncle.
Just before I went indoors, Al passed me a stack of Christmas cards he's received, to put up/cut up whatever. He doesn't want em, he just 'checked them for absentees'.
I had to stay in the car for another 5 mins to stop laughing. Oh yes, and to finalise our double-devious plot re late night parking bay sequester.

NB I'm filtering ALL my posts Friends Only now, since commonpeople's LJ was invaded today after he criticised a US cult group.
Not that such a condoned precaution as THEIR filter will make any real difference. (SOME hack(s) should get a variable cypher going).
